Sascha

Since June 2019, Sascha supports the d|part team as engagement officer for the Voices on Values project, where he is responsible for outreach. Sascha is completing a PhD on national and European identities in a historical context at the university of Potsdam and has been extensively engaged with the grassroots ThinkTank Polis180 on a voluntary basis.

Sascha obtained his B.A. in History and Philosophy and an M.A. in History of the Early Modern Times, both from the University of Potsdam.

Annalisa1Annalisa Buscaini

Annalisa Buscaini supports the development and coordination of the Open Society European Policy Institute’s research and partnerships. She oversees in particular the implementation of the Voices on Values project. She joined the Open Society Foundations in April 2015. 

Buscaini previously worked for the European Commission, the European Programme for Integration and Migration (a collaborative funding initiative of the Network of European Foundations), and UNHCR’s office in Brussels.

Buscaini has an MA in European studies from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, with a specialization in EU asylum and migration policies, and a BA in political science and international relations from the University of Rome Sapienza.

Dr Jan Eichhorn

Eichhorn PicCas

Jan is a founding partner of d|part and its research director. He coordinated the design of the project and oversees its progress and in particular the research undertaken. 

Jan holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in Integrated Social Sciences from Jacobs University Bremen. In addition to his research work Jan also teaches as a Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Edinburgh and has provided expert advice on political participation and public engagement in constitutional change processes to governments and parliaments in Scotland, the UK and Germany as well as a wide range of third sector organisations and foundations. Jan has also been a frequent contributor to discussions in print and broadcast media in multiple countries.

Dr Heather Grabbe

heatherHeather Grabbe, as both the director of the Open Society European Policy Institute and director of EU affairs, works to ensure that open society values are at the heart of EU policies and actions, both inside and outside its borders.

From 2004 to 2009 she was senior advisor to then European Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn, responsible in his cabinet for the Balkans and Turkey. Before joining the commission, she was deputy director of the Centre for European Reform, the London-based think tank, where she published widely on EU enlargement and other European issues. Her writing has appeared in the Financial Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian, among others.

Her academic career includes teaching at the London School of Economics, and research at Oxford and Birmingham universities, the Royal Institute for International Affairs (Chatham House, London), and the European University Institute (Florence). Grabbe has a PhD from Birmingham University and a BA and MA from Oxford University. She speaks French, Italian, and German.

Magali Mohr

Magali new ad minMagali is a Senior Research Fellow at d|part and is the head quantitative researcher for the project. Since January 2019, Magali is also the head of impact and engagement, responsible for liasing with external partners as well as for the project's outreach activities. 

Before joining d|part Magali worked as a business consultant in a market research company in London, where she conducted qualitative and quantitative research, amongst others in India, Egypt, Singapore, Italy, Germany and the UK. Magali also worked as a project coordinator at the Foundation FUTURZWEI where she conducted research on young people's attitudes towards the future.

Magali holds a B.A. in European Studies from Maastricht University and an MSc in Global Migration from University College London.
