Catherine Fieschi

Catherine Fieschi 2bw 50 1 30Catherine Fieschi is the Director of Counterpoint, the London-based research and advisory group. Counterpoint, works across the globe to provide businesses, governments and NGOs with strategic advice on how to manage the deep cultural and social dynamics that shape key, macro political and security risks.

Through her focus on contemporary forms of mobilisation, Catherine assesses new forms of risk and their effects on global markets and politics.  She has particular expertise in the populist politics of Europe and is the author of In the Shadow of Democracy (a study of the French Front national in comparative perspective) as well as numerous essays on how new forms and new means of mobilisation are reshaping European and international politics and institutions.

A political scientist and entrepreneur, Catherine is a former director of the think tank Demos, a former research director at the British Council, and currently a Senior Research Fellow at The Institute for Global Prosperity at UCL. She holds a PhD in Comparative Political Science from McGill University.

Catherine has a column in the Chatham House magazine, The World Today, and is a regular participant in press, radio and television debates; A dual citizen of Canada and France, she has also lived in Italy, Senegal, the United States, and has called the UK home for over 20 years. She is fluent in several languages.
